MITSUBISHI MOTORS AUSTRALIA has announced a raft of minor changes for the 2010 Lancer range. Its strongly performing Lancer - sales up 54.6 percent last month against the same period last year - now gets updated body parts, a slightly revamped interior for the ES and new equipment levels.
Most noticeable externally is the addition of the VRX tail lamp clusters to all variants, while the Lancer VR gets a chrome-edged upper grille and new 16-inch alloys.
Inside, the base model ES now features a lidded cup-holder pocket and a floor-mounted console storage box.
The VR also gets a cup-holder lid, and a leather-trimmed parking brake handle.
A Rockford Fosgate premium audio system, standard on the 2010 MY Lancer VRX, can now be optioned for the VR.
The VRX gets a sound-deadening windscreen, which is also fitted to the top-spec Lancer Aspire and Lancer Ralliart.
Changes for the Aspire include chrome-finish exterior door handles, a leather-trimmed parking brake and Mitsubishi's MMCS touchscreen sat-nav system.
The Ralliart also scores the leather-trimmed parking-brake as standard.
An option pack that includes the Rockford Fosgate sound system, MMCS interface and leather seats is now available.
Safety-wise, traction control, stability control, ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist are standard across the range.
The base model gets dual front airbags and a driver's knee airbag as standard, with side and curtain airbags as optional extras.
The rest of the Lancer range gets a full suite of seven airbags as standard equipment.
On sale nationally, the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer range bears no price increases over the previous model year.
The range starts at $21,990 for the base ES manual (before on-road costs), rising to $43,890 for the high-performance Ralliart sedan and Sportback.

So its this or maybe the Kia Koup.
Bit of a bummer that the ES is still not supplied with a full set of air bags, just 3 as standard. All they have done is change the dash material and added a centre console lid, wow so many changes on the ES that has gota be a record! :-)
I should/nt bitch, after all the price is unchanged!
Cheers,

Is this the case for the Ralliart also? Spewing...
And not happy that the Ralliart taillights are now across the range - the whole point was the lovely appearance of the lights only on the RA and VRX!
They should've thrown in Recaro's into the Ralliart... fail..

What drives me crazy is 2009 model cars offer 6 cd changers as features of upgrades which is absurd in an MP3 era and very few have built in GPS systems (even as options)!!
would appreciate clarification on the following:
1./ what month does the 2010 model hit the dealers?
2./ base model ES also capable of the "option pack that includes the Rockford Fosgate sound system, MMCS interface and leather seats is now available"? ---> is this a pack that includes all three or we can choose individual components?
3./ will there be newer color options?
