NISSAN MAY HAVE nixed any talk of offering a four-door Infiniti-badged version of its legendary GT-R, but it seems the Japanese carmaker isn’t so set against the idea of a luxury version of the coupe.
Spied testing at the Nurburgring recently, this GT-R with lightly camouflaged front and rear bumpers is believed to be the rumoured luxury SpecM.
Little appears altered under the zebra-like camouflage, however Nissan appears to have added new vents to the rear bumper, outboard of the exhaust tips.
Where the limited-edition SpecV focuses on reduced weight and enhanced handling, the SpecM is expected to offer a more upmarket interior with higher quality leather seats and other premium conveniences.
Power is unlikely to be altered, staying with the regular GT-R’s 360kW and 590Nm of torque. It’s possible, perhaps likely, that suspension will be adjusted to provide a more compliant ride.
If the SpecM is on the way, expect Nissan to reveal it at next month’s Tokyo Motor Show.

Some other enthusiast groups are saying this might just be a 2011 facelift model…
The rear foglight also appears to be made into a long LED strip.
If it is an M-spec one might assume it would have slightly softer damper settings by default as well; just like the R34 M-spec which had ‘ripple-control’ dampers for a more European-tuned, still-firm-but-more-compliant ride.
