The Very-Special V-Spec GT-R

With a special focus on weight reduction—remembering of course what a hefty ol’ cow the new GT-R is—and racetrack readiness, the V-Spec is shaping up to be the ultimate shamebringer. Aluminium doors over carbon fibre frames, a carbon fibre bonnet and front bar, and a somewhat stripped out interior will all contribute to shaving a good 100 to 150kg from this big boned bullet.

Performance and handling additions will include, among other things, carbon ceramic brakes, either Bilstein or SACHS suspension, and a rumoured “overboost” function to boost power from 350 (469hp) to a not inconsiderable 380kw (509hp).

For a car that is already putting the lap times of many established legends to shame, the V-Spec is looking more and more likely to be the epitome of all out-of-the-box racers.
