FOLLOWING NEWS THAT Forza Motorsport 3 has gone gold, Microsoft and publisher Turn 10 have announced that a playable demo of the game will be available on XBOX Marketplace from September 24 - the day before the Tokyo Game Show, where Sony is rumoured to be announcing the launch date for Gran Turismo 5.
While the full game is scheduled for release in Australia on October 23, the demo will feature the game’s revised damage system, the interior cabin view, a rewind function, and the fictional Camino Viejo racing circuit.

Five playable cars will be available:

- 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro
- 2009 Ferrari California
- 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
- 2009 Mini John Cooper Works
The demo will also feature a full online leader board, allowing eager gamers to compare their lap times with other Forza 3 racers around the world.
Need For Speed: SHIFT
Need For Speed: SHIFT, the newest chapter in Electronic Arts’ Need For Speed series, is shaping up to be a revolution for the franchise.
Moving away from its usual brand of arcade street race, Need For Speed: SHIFT has added a new feature called Car Battle.
Offering 15 specific match-ups, SHIFT’s Car Battle mode allows gamers to see which car is the best out of the two, relying on their own ability to tackle some of the world’s most sought-after cars.

Wow…I use to like grand trismo but it looks like forza and need for speed shift are going to win me over.
Yep, Forza is the bees knees when it comes to racing.
I’d better start saving my pennies!
Hey Brad, like you I was a Gran Turismo nut but the endless wait since GT4 until now (and even at the Tokyo show they’ll only be announcing the *release* date, not the game itself) is just inexcusable. Those guys at Polyphony are incredible, but just look at what Turn 10 have achieved in less than half the time, with handling dynamics which are just as realistic (arguably more). And while the graphics might not be quite up to par with GT5, I think it’s a small price to pay, especially given the customisation options and other features.
Def looking forward to Sep 24…
