MINI HAS TODAY OFFERED another glimpse of its latest concept car, the Coupe Concept, in its most detailed video yet.
In this latest teaser, MINI’s design chief Gert Hildebrand takes us through the history and reasoning behind the Britain-based automaker’s newest concept car.
He also says that although it’s only a concept for now, the Coupe also indicates the future design direction of MINI.
“The MINI concept coupe you see here is showing our future direction,” Mr Hildebrand says in the video.
“The design inspiration was the coupes which played a role in Mini’s history.
“Mini never produced coupes in their actual production run, but in England a lot of kit cars were produced as coupes. We put this idea into the concept vehicle that we’ll be showing at the Frankfurt Motor Show.”
As to whether the Coupe Concept will form the basis for a production model, Hildebrand doesn’t give away any hints.
“There’s no decision made if this car goes in production, it’s a pure concept. We’re looking forward to seeing the reaction,” he said.
