WITH THE UPDATED 2010 3 Series Coupe recently spied, and these new photos of the convertible version, it’s clear that BMW is well into the final stages of development for the updated 3 Series range.

Likely to debut at Frankfurt next month, the latest round of spy photos for the 2010 3 Series Convertible - and the Coupe before it - reveal that little will change in the way of external styling.

The limited camouflage shows that a revised front bumper design is on the cards, and basic masking on the headlights points to a possible redesign of the internal look and layout.

LED rear lights and a tweaked rear bumper appear likely.

The interior of the updated 3 Series is expected to benefit from updated styling and trim options, including a new centre armrest/console design.

The 2010 3 Series Coupe and Convertible will see the introduction of a second-generation iDrive system, featuring a larger 22cm (8.8inch) LCD display and an optional 80gb hard drive.

Like the 2009 3 Series sedan, the refreshed Coupe will focus on improved fuel efficiency. As such, the 2011 Coupe will gain a brake energy regeneration system, stop-start engine technology, electro-mechanical power steering and low rolling-resistance tyres.
