Scion’s Hako concept car is not the only recent creation to draw on past influences. The Bentley Boys in the USA have revealed their Bentley S3-based concept that melds 1960’s styling with new millennium technology – and unlike the Hako it looks sensational.
Designed by Arturo Alonso the 2009 Bentley S3 based concept uses the original Bentley chassis and BMW sourced 4.4-litre V8 and 5-speed ZF automatic. The forged alloy wheels are definitely not original Bentley fitment and are a massive 20”x9.5”.
Alonso and his team are only planning a production run of three units and even that depends on the interest shown after the unveiling. We can’t see there being an issue, and priced at a reasonable $US150,000 it actually seems like good value for a custom built car.
Alonso will be targeting cashed-up buyers in the usual places, such as the Middle East, Russia the UK and North America. Each production vehicle will be built one at a time over a period of eight months.
You guessed it, the chances of one of these unique Bentley Boy’s creations finding their way to Oz is very, very slim – so enjoy the picture gallery below.
