Jaguar have today released Australian pricing details for their new XF saloon, due to arrive on dealer forecourts in June of this year. In Australia, Jaguar dealers have taken close to 200 pre-sales orders, considerably above expectations given the launch is still two months or more away.
“The interest in XF - before anybody in this country has even driven the car - has been very satisfying. If things continue in this way, we may have sold out our entire 2008 allocation before a single vehicle is on the road here. What is also encouraging is that the XF is attracting a new group of customers to the Jaguar brand: more than three-quarters of those who are contacting us about XF have never owned a Jaguar before.” commented Dorian Lapthorne, General Manager, Jaguar Australia.
Entry to the XF club begins at $105,500 RRP for the Luxury spec 2.7-litre V6 diesel and tops out at $166,700 for the 4.2-litre supercharged V8 powered SV8.
Jaguar XF buyers will have a choice of four engines including one of the most refined diesels in it’s class, the 2.7 turbodiesel. Three petrol engines will be available, including a 3.0 litre V6, 4.2 litre V8 and the range topping 4.2 litre supercharged V8 with 306kW.
All XF’s feature a six speed automatic transmission that includes a unique, all new JaguarDrive selector - an industry first rotary shift interface - and the Jaguar Sequential Shift System with steering mounted paddles for one-touch manual control.
Recommended retail prices for the XF model range are as follows:
$105,500 - 2.7 litre V6 Diesel Luxury
$105,500 - 3.0 litre V6 Petrol Luxury
$130,500 - 4.2 litre V8 Petrol Premium Luxury
$166,700 - 4.2 litre Supercharged V8 SV8

I’ve ordered one for June delivery. After four consecutive BMW 5 series, I’m over them, run flat( read rock hard ride) tyres, i-drive etc., they’ve forgotten about customers in the pursuit of design and engineering excellence
