Alfa Romeo unveiled the 8C Competizione Spider at this years Geneva Motor Show. The 8C Spider is equipped with the same 4.7 litre V8 found in the coupe, which means 336kW/450hp at 7,000rpm and peak torque of 480Nm at 4750rpm. Gear changes are effected by a self-shifting 6-speed gearbox with computerised gear selection via steering-wheel mounted paddles.
The hooded top of the 8C Spider is fitted with electro-hydraulic automatic control. Initially, 500 models of the 8C Competizione Spider will be produced, going to the USA, Italy, Germany and Japan. Expect it to be a sell-out long before the first one rolls of the boat.
