BILLED BY PORSCHE as “the most sporting 911 yet”, the new 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS - first revealed last month - has this week had its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Powered by the same naturally-aspirated 3.8 litre flat six found in the ‘regular’ GT3, output for the new GT3 RS has been bumped up from 320kW to 335kW, making for more than 84kW per litre.
A wider track front and back gives the new RS greater grip and an even larger carbon-fibre wing on aluminium supports has been added to the rear of the beast.
The 3.8 litre flat six powertrain is mated to a six-speed manual transmission optimised for short gearshift travel, low weight and high efficiency.
Engineered specifically for performance throughout the rev range, the transmission in the GT3 RS has been set up with shorter ratios than those found in the GT3, deliberately conceding an even higher potential top track speed.
The GT3 RS is fitted with dynamic engine mounts, which, depending on the driving conditions, automatically adjust the stiffness and damping effect to suit.
Purpose-built PASM suspension ensures optimum sporting behaviour, with 19×9-inch wheels propping up the front corners and massive 19×12-inch rear wheels getting power to the ground.
With an objective of stripping out all unnecessary weight, the 2010 GT3 RS will feature a lithium-ion starter battery instead of the standard lead-acid unit, reducing kerb weight by a further 10kg.
Brand-new body graphics, a hallmark of the GT3 and GT3 RS, are also featured on the 2010 model.

Yes Ouch… but you know Porsche considers that plastic splitter thingy under the front bumper a “consumable” part… just like brake pads and stuff… LOL.
After you go ouchie a number of times and it’s worn, just replace it! haha.
now thats serious motoring. Great looks (including the decals and the plastic splitter thingy) even greater performance. Not so sure about the rear spoiler or the available colours. Can’t wait to drive it!
