HONDA HAS LAUNCHED its first factory chopper, the 2010 Honda VT1300CX, described by the Japanese manufacturer as a ‘milestone machine’.

Designed faithfully to the traditional chopper formula, the VT1300CX features a high-mount steering head that creates a ’see through’ look to the frame.

A long, slim fuel tank, ultra-low seat, and a huge 200-series rear tyre is paired with a narrow 21-inch front wheel on a stretched wheelbase.

The front valve cover hides the top radiator hose - a feature Honda says is testament to the effort taken to maintain the open-air look of the front end.

Despite the traditional styling of the VT1300CX, Honda’s technological prowess shines through in the form of the single-shock rear suspension system and aluminium swingarm.

Adjustable rebound damping and five-position preload adjustment provides a level of riding comfort that Honda claims is far beyond the norm for a chopper-style motorcycle.

A 45mm fork handles suspension duties up front, and braking is managed by a 336mm front disc and a 296mm disc at the rear.

Power is provided by Honda’s 1312cc liquid-cooled 52-degree V-twin engine, featuring a single-pin crankshaft and dual balancers.

New camshafts and a newly designed exhaust system complements the muscular V-twin.

The 2010 Honda VT1300CX will be available nationally from December.

fantastic, how much

Exactly…HOW MUCH?? $$

My next Harley is going to set me back $35K why would I even consider this bike at all? It sounds like a fart in a Jar and is basically a poser bike for wannabes that can’t afford a Harley. Am I right? :)

Looks great, Why pay $35k for a bike for a name, just so you can say you ride a Harley, (big deal) the bike doesnt make the man.
This looks just as good and better then some Harleys, so if you like it then buy it and ENJOY THE RIDE.

On a USA motorcycles for sale site these were advertised for $13200 , so add about 20% for aussie price, l guess about $15800. Shaft drive,1300cc, mmm ,could be worth a test ride.

The Harley is the Fart in the Jar ridden by posers with small willies. I have had 2 Harleys and now ride a Suzuki. Much better. Looking forward to the Honda.
