Hyundai Genesis Coupe at the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show

Based on Hyundai’s RWD Genesis platform the Genesis Coupe is simply magnificent in the metal. Hyundai have confirmed that the Coupe will feature a turbo-charged four-cylinder engine. The new engine is a joint development between Hyundai, Chrysler and Mitsubishi. Displacing 2.0-litres it will feature direct-injection and should be a favouite for the tuner set.

The turbo Coupe will also feature a six-speed manual, possibly an optional LSD and there may even be some Hyundai factory performance parts on the way. The V6 variant of the Coupe will feature a 3.8-litre V6 expected to produce in excess of 224kW/300hp but expect the turbo four to be the popular choice on the street.

A V8 Genesis Coupe? We hope so but Hyundai are saying no for the moment.
