The Toyota FT-HS or Future Toyota Hybrid Sports was the feature over at the Toyota display. Looking much more compact in the flesh than the pictures suggest, it is almost bereft of front and rear overhangs.
The FT-HS combines an electric motor and a 3.5-litre 300kW V6 petrol engine, which is similar to that used in several production models, including Toyota Australia’s Aurion.
Its front-engine, rear-drive layout hybrid drivetrain is estimated to be capable of dispatching the 0-100km/h dash within the four-second range.
It also features the fuel-saving benefits and ultra-low emissions of Toyota’s hybrid technology.
