SUZUKI AUSTRALIA HAS confirmed that the upcoming Kizashi mid-size sedan will be arriving here in the first half of next year.

Takeshi Hayasaki, Managing Director of Suzuki Australia, recently told TMR that we can expect to see the sharply-styled sedan in local showrooms in the second quarter of 2010, with the car’s precise launch date still to be determined.

Suzuki will target the Kizashi squarely at the two dominant forces in the mid-size passenger car segment: the Mazda6 and the Honda Accord Euro.

With a 2.4 litre four cylinder motor and a 3.0 litre V6 slated to be fitted to Aus-market Kizashi’s (an AWD V6 may also eventuate), Suzuki will be hoping it can snare a substantial share of the segment.

Suzuki is remaining coy about how many Kizashis it expects to sell; however the positive reaction that the Kizashi 3 Concept received at last year’s Sydney Motor Show, suggests that it could be onto a winner.

Paying attention Subaru?

What sort of price are we expecting?

That looks fantastic, a growing market with a very stylish looking vehicle should do well, Suzuki certainly have a reputation for reliable stable products (boat engines, bikes, cars - just look at the Swift!). Should be a good thing.

This car actually looks fit to be one of those supersedans, if any of you Gran Turismo fans remember the 904kw escudo rally car :P
I’m dreaming aren’t I, this thing is bloody awesome

Fronts a bit fussy, should block out the lower intake vent [did with my finger and looked fine]

Any photos of inside, and info on the drivetrain?

I feel it will be overpriced, $30k+, not @ the cheap end so cannot see them doing high volume, good 1st. effort though!

Cheers,
