MICROSOFT has confirmed that, despite fears to the contrary, the highly anticipated XBOX 360 title Forza Motorsport 3 has not been delayed until 2010.

In fact, the latest instalment in the popular racing franchise now has an official launch date for the Australian and New Zealand markets, and that date is October 23 - A good four days ahead of the October 27 launch in North America.

The game will also be available with a special limited edition packaging (pictured above) which, for a little extra spend, will get you a branded 2gb USB drive and keychain, along with a Forza Motorsport VIP Membership entitling you to special treatment in Forza's online realm and 5 special VIP-only cars.

Forza Motorsport 3 promises over 400 fully customisable cars, 100 tracks, a 60fps frame rate, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to roll your car.

Forza’s previous tracks are there, such as Suzuka and Nurburgring Nordschleife, and Forza Motorsport 3 adds a bunch of road courses such as the Montserrat region of Spain, the Amalfi Coast in Italy and the American Southwest.

A range of new game modes will be available as well, with the single-player season putting you through a personalised racing calendar featuring over 200 different events. The online multiplayer mode gets a new games rules editor, giving you new ways to play online.
