Peugeot 308 RC-Z will be produced

Peugeot are set to announce the production of their gorgeous 308 RC-Z coupe at this years Geneva Motor Show in March. To many, the 308 RC-Z concept reminds them of Audi’s TT Coupe, particularly in the roofline and although there are certainly hints of Audi, it is unmistakably Peugeot.

When most manufacturers are heading away from large front overhangs, Peugeot have recently gone the other way, and whilst their designs are unique they have appeared a little clumsy looking up front. However, the 308 RC-Z takes the Peugeot corporate nose in its stride and looks damn good doing it.

The 308 RC-Z features some other unique design touches as well and it will be interesting to see exactly what makes it through to the production version. There is a polycarbonate roof with twin bubbles to increase headroom, and perhaps the least inspiring part of the design, the kick-up in the rear quarter windows.

Power is provided by the same 1.6-litre 163kW/218hp direct injection four cylinder that can be found in the MINI. The production version of the 308 RC-Z is expected to be relatively lightweight and should be capable of decent turn of speed.

We’ll bring you more as updates become available from Geneva.

This is actually not bad looking for a Peugeot!
