Leaked images of Mitsubishi’s Lancer Prototype-S found their way onto the internet last night ahead of an expected Geneva Motor Show unveiling in March. Although its being called a prototype it is really closer to being a production car and is basically what we can expect when the Lancer Sportback Ralliart hits the streets.
The Lancer Sportback Ralliart will basically be a hatch version of the Lancer Ralliart sedan, which means it will receive a de-tuned version of the EVO X’s 2.0-litre turbo engine in combination with a Twin Clutch SST gearbox as well as an AWD system that features Mitsubishi’s Active Centre Differantial.
We’ve predicted that the Lancer Ralliart sedan will be the performance bargain of 2008 and it looks like the Sportback will be its good-looking almost identical twin. Look out Subaru…

What have they done to it? The proto type shown at the Melbourne Motor show in previous years was so much better looking! Why Why Why try and ad bling and what happened to the rear? I was waiting out for this car but no longer wish to purchase one.

You can’t beat practical guys…unfortunately. Its so obviously put together to take on the WRX. Shame it doesn’t carry through more of the concepts awesome styling.
