Could the new VE Commodore based Pontiac G8 include an LS3 Corvette engine option? Well, the folks over at G8GT.com seem to think they have the evidence to suggest that it will. Pictured above is a pic posted from GM’s inventory controls website and the LS3 appears to be an option.

Holden and HSV fans are widely predicting the introduction of the 6.2-litre LS3 V8 into the HSV line-up, and an LS3 HSV is expected to be unveiled at this months Melbourne Motor Show.

Is it possible that our American friends will soon be buying one of our favourite home-grown performance cars at a way cheaper price than we can and that they will be able to tick an LS3 option? It would never happen in Australia as we HSV to provide us with our ‘big-power’ thrills and it would take away from the exclusivity of the HSV product if the same engine could be optioned in an SS-V Commodore.

Does this mean that the rumoured export of HSV’s to the U.S. has been scrapped, possibly as a result of the weak U.S. dollar? This is one snippet of information that turns up more questions than answers.
