Bugatti’s Next Concept May Not Be The Bordeaux, Three Options On The Way

BUGATTI IS SET to reveal an all-new concept in September, and although the company has recently revealed a teaser image of a concept known as the ‘Bordeaux’, Autocar says that may not be the model we see next month.

Previous reports have suggested the Bordeaux will seat four and draw power from a version of the Veyron’s mammoth quad-turbocharged 8.0 litre W16 engine.

In a recent discussion with Autocar, Bugatti boss Dr Franz-Josef Pfaegen revealed that the Bordeaux is merely one of three concepts the company is working on.

At a private showing at Bugatti’s centennial celebrations in France next month, the supercar manufacturer is expected to show three potential future models to buyers and dealers, in a bid to determine which model should next wear the Bugatti badge.

Whichever direction the company moves, production of a new Bugatti model is unlikely to begin until around 2011 or 2012.

Styling of the Bordeaux is largely a mystery, but the teaser shot above depicts a pair of distinctive horseshoe-shaped LED tailights bisected by a distinctive vertical central light.

AutoExpress claims that the Bordeaux will feature a split rear windscreen (a homage to the classic Bugatti Type 57S Atlantic), and the orientation of the centre light backs up this theory.
