Alfa Romeo Milano Revealed In Undisguised Form

IMAGES OF A completely camouflage-free 2010 Alfa Romeo Milano have hit the web, not long after a covered-up protype was spotted lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

The images, apparently taken by an Alfa Romeo enthusiast and uploaded onto Facebook, show the 147 replacement sitting in some kind of storage facility (alongside it are other early production models).

These sneak-preview images fully display the Milano’s MiTo-inspired styling.

Powertrain details are still scarce (a brace of turbocharged petrol inline-fours and a V6 have been mooted), but it’s plain to see that Alfa is forging ahead with the new corporate ‘face’ that was brought in with the 8c Competizione and MiTo.

Alfa’s signature triangular grille remains, however the headlights have become more eliptical in shape and pushed to the very corners of the Milano’s nose.

The tail-lights are more the traditional Alfa Romeo shape and the rear doors feature Alfa’s trademark hidden door handles - not the conventional handles that were seen on the prototype.

Judging by the limited photos available, the interior will feature a broad, sweeping dashboard, a set of quasi-retro toggle switches on the centre stack and an instrument cluster that should be familiar to anyone who’s owned a modern Alfa.

The Milano is expected to make its global debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show this September, with European sales slated to commence in the fourth quarter of this year.

An Australian release date hasn’t been firmed up, but it’s likely that the Milano/149 will eventually make its way down here.
