SUZUKI HAS expanded its Boulevard range of cruisers with the addition of the C109RT, the sixth model in the lineup.
Powered by a 1783cc, DOHC V-Twin engine and fueled by a 19 litre tank, the C109RT combines a lot of grunt with great range.
Being the same engine as that used by the C109R, the C109RT's mill receives the same forged aluminium pistons, chrome-moly conrods, dry-sump lubrication system and dual sparkplugs per cylinder as its sibling.
But, being the touring model, the C109RT also gets a few features to ensure a comfortable ride and a cooler aesthetic, such as a two-tone paint scheme, studded leather seats and passenger footboards.
The gearbox is a five-speed unit with wide ratios, while a shaft drive takes power to the rear wheel. Suspension is telescopic front forks with an adjustable-preload rear swingarm, while the C109RT also features a clever braking system that applies partial force to the front brakes when the rear brake is pressed.
On sale nationally, the 2009 Suzuki C109R is covered by a two-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.
