Jaguar XJ Designer Ian Callum Video Interview, Unveilling On July 9

THE ELUSIVE JAGUAR XJ has been a hot topic in the automotive world for a while now, but come July 9, we’ll finally see famed designer Ian Callum’s latest masterpiece.

Jaguar revealed the first official image – a top-down view – and video of the all-new XJ at the 2009 Shanghai Motor Show in April, but now, to whet our appetites, Jaguar has released a short video of Callum talking about the approach and the design philosophy behind the new XJ. Click through to check it out.

Callum describes the car as very modern – itself a recent addition to the Jaguar design ethos – seeing it as a well crafted 21st century Jaguar.

“It’s a very design-led car. The lines are beautiful, but we’ve reinterpreted it in a very different way. It’s right and correct for the 21st century, and that’s what it’s important. A Jaguar should be very beautiful, very clear in its intent, but very relevant for its time.”
