Audi R8 V10

Eight is not enough

Now that the Audi R8 has been driven by motoring hacks around the world we know that it is a superb car and considered a match for the Porsche 997 and almost a match for the Lamborghini Gallardo.

Well the R8’s beefier brother has been snapped testing at the Nurburgring recently and a little more detail about the expected specifications has become known. Expect output from the V10 to be around 370kW a little less than the Lamboorghini Gallardo but still more than enough.

Obviously the current Audi R8’s 0-100km/h time will improve from the current 4.6 seconds and top speed should nudge 320km/h.

If you look closely at the body the first thing you will notice is that the section behind the door is colour-coded to rest of the car which is an improvement over the standard R8’s look. Hopefully it continues into production. The side sills and vents appear to have been reshaped as well in an effort to provide more cooling air to the larger engine.

The Audi R8 V10 is still probably 18 months away so keep saving.
