If you grew up in the 80’s like I did and you’re any sort of a petrolhead then you will remember the TV series Knight Rider, featuring K.I.T.T (Knight Industries Two Thousand) a black Pontiac Trans Am with a bunch of very cool additions and its hairy chested driver the legendary David Hasselhoff. It was must see crime fighting TV for a while there.

Well, its being resurrected and rather oddly, NBC have chosen to ditch the Pontiac connection (could have used one of the new G8’s…) and instead have jumped the Ford fence and chosen a very cool, 550hp (410kW) Shelby GT500KR Mustang to be the new K.I.T.T., although the choice of ride doesn’t seem to be sitting too well with many US based fans.

As expected, David Hasselhoff will be making a cameo appearance in the new series. Click through for a video of K.I.T.T in action.
