BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo Walkthrough Video, Likely To Hit Australia In 2010

AS SOMETHING of a ‘cherry on top’ to yesterday’s long-awaited reveal of the 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, BMW has released an animated video giving us a walk-through of the car’s features and design.

Sharing the same mechanical underpinnings as its sedan sibling, the 5 Series GT has been developed with two petrol engines and one diesel mill, with the range-topping 550i developing 294kW from its 4.4 litre turbo V8.

Australian availability has yet to be released, but just to be sure, we put in a call to BMW’s Product Communications Manager, Tim James.

“At this stage all we can say is that it’s in the planning for quarter one of 2010. We haven’t had it confirmed in terms of detail of engine variants we’ll be receiving, [but] it’s likely we’ll get it here.”

Good news then for buyers looking for the space of an SUV, the style of a fastback, and the profile of something right in between.

It is very cool. I like the BMW5 and BMW 330i, Fortunately, my working company provided some forging parts for BMW. Hope we can see this car sooner.

It looks ugly. I would never even consider a GT car for buying unless its pretty. And what is with that hatch back boot? Enough of ugliness already, BMW need to realize that the previous series styling was the better and make something like that.
