Nissan Forum concept revealed

People movers don’t generally excite the senses like regular cars, in fact they don’t really excite the senses at all but that hasn’t stopped Nissan officially taking the covers off their latest concept vehicle, the Forum – one very comfortable looking people mover.

The Forum won’t do 0-100km/h in 5.0 seconds or corner like it is on rails but it does have a trackless sliding door! Nissan have made use of a patented hinge system to do away with the ugly track line that usually runs down the side of a van equipped with sliding doors. They’ve also eliminated the usual b-pillar to effectively allow much of one side of the Forum to be opened quite wide.

On the inside, there are the incredibly comfortable looking seats, a dash that features an odd mix of woodgrain and instruments that have a hint of Pagani about them. The second row seat is motorized and can be rotated 180 degrees to enable the occupants to either face and interact with their fellow third row passengers or face the front of the van.

As its name suggests, FORUM is conceived as a "gathering place," bringing adults and children together in two independent but linked "zones." Targeting families with older children who not only can entertain themselves but also demand to, FORUM respects the needs and desires of both grownups and kids.

Other features include a small microwave, a surveillance camera in the third row seating area called “Kid’s Cam” as well as an intercom that mutes the audio system when in use. The Forum also features Nissan’s around-view parking assistance system.

While it is equipped with a microwave it hasn’t been fitted with an engine…however a production version would work well with a clean diesel powerplant according to Nissan.
