Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS rumours

Some interesting news bobbed up overnight with Autoweek claiming that Aston were in the process of making every school-boys dream a reality by dropping the DBRS9’s V12 into the Vantage to create the V12 Vantage RS. Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it…and perhaps it is as the original Autoweek article has now been pulled, but lets not let that get in the way of a rocking piece of speculation!

The special edition V12 Vantage RS is “rumoured” to be powered by the same V12 currently doing time in Aston’s DBRS9 race car. Aston could have opted for the V12 from the DB9 or DBS but obviously wanted to go the “whole hog”.

That means you’d be looking at a Vantage with around 450kW/600hp, enough to bestow the Vantage RS with a 0-100km/h time in the 3 second bracket and a 320km/h + top speed.

According to the guys at Autoblog the obvious target for this Super-Aston would be Ferrari’s very accomplished 599 GTB Fiorano. An English 599 for bespoke folk…
