While we wait for the next instalment of Pixar’s and Disney’s animated Cars franchise, the nuts at Pixar have put together a short film telling the tale of Tow Mater’s adventures in Japan.

The film follows Mater - the rusted out tow truck in the original Cars movie - as he tells a customer that no destination is too far, and finds himself crawling rolling out of the surf and discovering he’s now thousands of kilometres away in Tokyo, Japan.

Before long, poor Mater is confronted by an impetuous young modified car that lives and breathes the art of drifting. Challenged to a race, where the loser will be stripped of his modifications and become “…STOCK!”, the fun begins.
