Porsche is making a four-door coupe. That’s big news. It was big news when the German supercar manufacturer announced it, it was big news when the first batch of official images came through, and it’s still big news now.
The latest news is that production of the 2010 Porsche Panamera is now underway at the company’s assembly plant in Leipzig, Germany, alongside its bigger four-door sibling, the Cayenne. The first units are expected to hit the road in September.
Undergoing a massive expansion project that saw 22,000 square metres added to the plant’s workspace, the facility was closed for eight months of the two year project.
Now, the plant is open again, production has begun, and visitors are once again welcome to drop in and take a look at how it all comes together.
The two-hour tour is free of charge, and participants have the chance to experience the Panamera’s or Cayenne’s driving features on the racetrack or on the company’s off-road premises.

I think it’s a pretty car and I can’t wait to see one in the flesh.
