There is nothing overly special here and its certainly a step backwards from Fords recent Kinetic design mantra but for all intents and purposes this is the new Ford Ka. Snapped in tandem with the more curvaceous and modern looking model that it is set to replace, the new Ka will be unveiled in Brazil next week.

The new Ford Ka will be based on the Fiat 500 platform and will share the baby Fiats drivetrain options. Given the Fiat 500’s popularity and subsequent full order book, the new Ka could be the alternative for those finding it hard to secure a set of keys for the Fiat – provided the dull styling doesn’t bother you. According to the guys at Autoblog there is a possibility that the Ka will feature different styling for the rest of Europe – lets hope.

Ford has previously flirted with the Ka in Australia with little success and it seems unlikely that they will import the new model but you never know.
