There’s a new hero in town, swooping through the streets of New South Wales and alerting citizens to the dangers ahead. Its name... is TrafficHawk.

While it sounds more like a TV 'crime-busting hero' series, the story is true enough. The product of only 48 hours development work and coding, the TrafficHawk website is a neat way to stay up-to-date with traffic conditions across the city.

Utilising live views from permanent Road Traffic Authority cameras and information feeds from government and commercial sources, TrafficHawk’s website provides up-to-the-minute information on traffic around Sydney and surrounding suburbs.

Laid over a Google Maps layout, various icons such as cameras and exclamation marks provide live shots of the traffic at various locations and also alerts of accidents that might cause traffic delays.
