More for less is always a good way to win favour with buyers and Lotus may be looking to offer just that with a rumoured Elise Purist model.

Lotus Enthusiast is reporting that the Elise Purist will soon be available in the US and will be based on the Lotus Elise Sport Package.

To sweeten the deal there will also be components from the Touring package included gratis.

For no extra cashola, buyers will receive a CD player, a Momo steering wheel, leather seats, air-conditioning and a start button.

Add these appointments to the Elise and you would normally be looking at close to US$49,000 ($AU66,600), but reports indicate a US$43,9995 (AU$59,800) starting price for the Elise Purist.

At this price point, the Purist would undercut even the base model Elise by US$3255 (AU$4426).

Available in white, red or yellow, the Elise Purist will feature the same high-revving 1.8 litre engine as the rest of the Elise range. During our testing of the Elise, we found the Toyota sourced mill to be a willing performer.
