While recent rumblings suggest Pontiac's now-orphaned G8 could return to US shores as a Chevy-badged police car, these renderings show that the G8's two-door cousin the Chevrolet Camaro would make an even cooler cruiser.
Of course, these third-party renderings are entirely speculative and there's no suggestion from GM that the Camaro will see service with law enforcement agencies. However, we reckon an entire generation of kids would be clamouring to become police officers if there was.

You've never heard of Pursuit Vehicles? Used in High Speed Chases, and when someone needs to get somewhere fast. They're not made to apprehend suspects, just catch them. Hence why they put "SpeedUnit" on the car.

This is why the U.S police are a joke. They need way too many resources to do their job. Having so many special purpose vehicles wastes way too much money.
Anyway, if you need to get the police somewhere fast, use a motorcycle. Half the price and faster. A motorcycle can't ram a car but if you are doing that you have lost the plot anyway.
The only rationale for buying a two door coupe for the police is to attract foolish / redneck teenage boys into the force.

Instead of making brash, sweeping judgements, do some research.

I know I'm way late on posting, but if you see this:
You have no idea what law enforcement does. You are the type of person that says we have too many resources. Well the truth of the matter is we don't. This is the reason we can not get things accomplished. We no longer have respect from the streets. An item like this goes a long way on perception of the people (The criminals we deal with). We are not trying to impress or intimidate the law abiding citizen; we don't have to; because they are not the problem. The more your public safety (Police, Fire, EMS) have the less problems there will be.
