While the GT-R soaks up the limelight (and rightfully so) a little rumour has come to light that will add to the smile already on the dial of Nissan performance car fans. It is being reported that both Carlos Ghosn, Nissan’s CEO and Toshiyuki Shiga Nissan’s COO have confirmed the return of the Silvia in 2010.
With a cult following by lovers of RWD and fans of drifting the previous Silvia or S15 200SX as we knew it in Australia was a RWD, two door coupe, performance car bargain. The last of the breed landed in Australia in 2002 and ever since the Nissan RWD performance flag has been flown in isolation by the 350Z.
If the rumours are true, 2010 will see a new Nissan Silvia and while details are thin on the ground we know what to expect from Nissan. They have done right by car enthusiasts with the 2008 GT-R and a new Silvia is an exciting prospect – lets hope it makes its way down to Australia.

*gag* yuck…. very disappointed
The images are artists renderings so possibly have little in common with what Nissan will come up with for the real deal, its a little early for any ‘real’ bona-fide Nissan images.
It’s not hideous, but I think I’d rather the S15, haha.
Still, it’s not like it’s a legit official drawing.
really great disappointment, a far failure compared to the visual designs if the S15, the tail lighrs are barely acceptable but the front….(sad)
very bland, does not have the raw sporty edge of the s15, needs more work
This is awsome heaps of true japanese car enthusiasts have been waiting for this car 2 return.
i dont like the drawing however i didnt like the r35 drawing and then when it was produced i loved it
looks nothing like any of the silvias before it. i think they should call this a sentra instead.
its alot different to all the others,
i cant decide a bit to futuristic for me i think
what kind of motor would it have??
i want have a look at nissan silvia not family car.
1.4 nissan micra motor possibly. as you can see the body shape. what else we can expect.
its a good idea to bring that silvia back but I’m not liking that front end it looks to sharp but if you but a body kit on it the car should look better. and for the back its excellent the doul exhaust and it should be cheap so its on my list
Nissan could revive the last Silvia, the S15 chassis and body, and it would still look just as sharp and sporty as the day it was originally made.
you can see the 350/370GT clearly in these pics.
looks like a bentley with honda s 2000 tail lights
nothing i was expecting, lou had it right it needs more work needs more of a sportier look to it. i’m very disappointed but would still to see what it can do and has to affor
