“If we have the courage to pursue our dreams and transform our vision into reality, we invite magic into our lives,” Ascari website

Based in Banbury UK and named after dual Formula One champion Alberto Ascari, Ascari has a history deeply rooted in motorsport. Their latest creation is the A10 which is being compared to the Ferrari Enzo, by Ascari and Jeremy Clarkson.

The A10 uses a BMW Motorsport 5.0-litre V8 that has been re-tuned to develop 466kW/625hp. Hooked up to a sequential manual gearbox and weighing only 1100kg the A10 is capable of 0-100kmh in under 3 seconds with 160kmh coming up in just 6 seconds. Ascari are laying claim to the A10 being the world’s fastest road-going car around a race track.

Compared to an Enzo the Ascari A10 is cheap at ‘only’ £350,000 and ownership includes access to Ascari’s own race-track resort in Spain. Marcos are in administration and TVR have their share of problems but it would seem the UK low volume manufacturer is alive and well at Ascari. Watch the Top Gear video to see why.
