Hyundai RWD Coupe Exposed

Thanks to a Tiburon Forum member, we get to see the new RWD Hyundai Coupe undisguised and sitting proudly next to its anticipated North American competitor the Ford Mustang. The pic was apparently taken at a market research event earlier this year. Hyundai appears to have done a reasonable job on the styling which will not offend anyone but seems unlikely to set many pulses racing either.

The details of the coupe provided at the market research event suggest that Hyundai’s new baby will feature two engine options and you guessed it, no V8, at least not yet. Options will include a 2.0 litre turbo with 160kW/215hp and taking over from the current Tiburon will be the 3.8-litre V6 version with 224kW/300hp.

Now that the styling is known we just have to wait patiently for the full specifications. While exact details remain sketchy at best the Hyundai Coupe is due to be unveiled at the LA Motor Show next week. There are still persistent rumours of V8 power and an optional Brembo brake package which would go some way to making the Coupe a Mustang competitor.

“over from the current Tiburon will be the 3.8-litre V6 version with 224kW/300hp.”

WRONG.

Currently found in the tibby is the 2.7-liter V6 172hp engine.

Thats the all new genesis coupe!
