With Nissan confirming that a team of GT-R’s will be competing at next years Super GT GT500 race series in Japan, we thought this would be a good time to show you what the GT-R will be up against in Japan’s Super GT.
Lexus SC430 GT500. A front mounted V8 engine that was used in the preceding Toyota Supra race car has been utilised for the new Lexus that only debuted in the GT500 last year. After confirming a first place finish in its debut race a year ago Lexus and have confirmed that Toyota variants of the SC430 will replace the ageing Supra fleet in 2008 and will punch out 373kW (500hp).
Honda NSX GT500. An old timer that reigns back to JGTC days (pre 2005) the NSX isn’t fairing so well in recent times and is perhaps in need of a replacement. Utilising a mid- rear mounted twin turbo version of its 3.0 Litre V6 that puts out the 373kW (500hp), if Honda are playing their cards right we should see a new car in racing come 2010.

Ah damn I hate the SC430, such an ugly car!
It’s just a pity they don’t televise this race series here in Australia. It’d probably make some interesting viewing.
Yes the SC430 is ridiculously fugly, a neighbor of mine had one a while back and i never built up the courage to ask him why he spent so much on such a bohemath…
as for the Super GT race series, i totally agree smith. THe GT500 is actually marketed as ‘International’, and once Rupert Murdoch catches wind of the GT-R’s popularity im sure it will be televised in Oz on cable.
did anyone see the evo spec of the gtr its looks than the normal gtr also check out the nissan japan 360 view of the gtr its shows so much detail about it
yes that lexus is ugly
Whats with the ass end of the Lexus? Horrid looking…. Mmmmm GT-RRRRRR……
I agree, the sc430 is a step backwards from the supra, we don’t get super gt in america, and murdoch owns speed channel up here, which is why we just got australian v8 supercar’s, but its not live. if you get wrc coverage enjoy it cause we haven’t had it since 2005 season enjoy your legal mary jane and well made skate parks
