Eric Bana nudged his 1974 Ford XB GT Coupe into the trees on Saturday during a competitive stage of the 2007 Targa Tasmania.

Both Eric and his co-driver escaped bodily injury with dents to the car and pride being the only casualties.

The road was dry at the time and it is thought that the old Falcon understeered off the road. Eric was finding the enormous power of the Falcon difficult to master on the challenging Targa stages. A supercar V8 engine and 30 year old car design don’t always come together to form a cohesive package.

At least he got out there and had a go and obviously had a ball doing it. Eric proved to be a crowd favourite on and off the track.
