HSV’s E-Series Clubsport R8 has recently been spotted in North America and the Middle East sparking speculation over possible new export markets for their V8 performance range. We now have unofficial confirmation that HSV will be shipping the R8 to the Middle East or at least thats what the GM Middle East 2008 product list suggests...

The fellas over at Drive Arabia managed to snaffle a copy of GM Middle East’s product list and amongst the usual suspects was a reference to a “CSV CR8” with “400+ horsepower” and there is only one likely candidate for that badge – the E-Series R8.

Powered by GM’s LS2 6.0-litre Corvette engine, the Clubsport R8 develops 307kW (412hp) and 550Nm. Already on sale in the UK as the Vauxhall VXR8 and destined (we believe) for a premium Pontiac badge in the States, the E-Series HSV product is HSV’s’ most successful model in the marques short twenty year history.
