There is so much news coming through on Nissan’s NEW GT-R that its getting ridiculous but this one is a bit special and we can’t just go leaving it out. Arguably the new GT-R’s one big claim to fame is its ability to lap the Nurburgring bloody quickly. We can now bring you official in-car Nissan footage of a lap of the ‘Ring being executed in 7:38. We have heard it will do 7:35…but maybe thats the V-Spec. Click through for the video and learn a little about the controversy surrounding the filmed lap.

Watch the video carefully and you will see that the lap completed does not appear to be a complete one…almost but not quite. It should be noted that there is some contention over this but from what I have been able to find out the lap shown in the video is how laps of the ‘Ring are measured by manufacturers so they are all comparable. The last couple of hundred metres are not included.
