Those bespoke folk from Rolls-Royce at Goodwood in the UK have announced that they have confirmed development plans for their headquarters and manufacturing facility. A new model series in the Rolls-Royce line-up has been approved and this along with the huge popularity of the super expensive Phantom necessitates improved production facilities to deal with the required extra production.

The big change will be the introduction of a new assembly line in 2008 which will run in conjunction with the existing line. One will produce million dollar Phantoms and the other will build the mysterious new model series.

Rolls-Royce will also be adding an extra production shift in 2009 to assist with the expected production capacity increase. Who would have thought that little old Rolls-Royce would be having it so good? It doesn’t hurt to let the Germans in from time to time, especially when the result is a car as stunning as the Phantom.

The internal remodeling of the plant will begin in late 2007.
