UK-based Chad Racing and Kia Motors Belgium have teamed up to enter a pair of Kia pro_cee’d touring cars in the 2009 BTCS season, with testing over the past week producing “encouraging” lap times.

Weighing less than 950kg and powered by a 328kW (440hp) 2.0 litre engine tuned by renowned UK outfit Mountune, the BTCS Kia pro_cee’d runs on a spaceframe designed by Pescarolo Le Mans.

Based on the uniquely named three-door Kia pro_cee’d production car, Chad Racing and its associates spent two years developing the race-spec BTCS Kia pro_cee’d cars.

The first of the two pro_cee’d race cars will be driven by Raf Vanthoor and Koen Wouters, a famous Belgian singer and songwriter, TV personality and racing enthusiast.

The second car will be steered by Phillip Steveny, a Kia dealer in Belgium, and racing driven Ian Dockerill from England.
