Acura has revealed the name of its BMW X6 contender ahead of the car’s scheduled unveiling at next week’s New York Motor Show: meet the Acura ZDX.

Beyond giving its creation a name, Acura has added little more to the puzzle, preferring to keep its cards close to its chest for now.

Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales, did his best to build anticipation for the launch without giving the game away.

“ZDX prototype is unlike anything you have ever seen from Acura.” (From Acura, yes. But from BMW… some familiarity there.)

“The prototype showcases a new level of luxury, style and refinement for Acura and speaks volumes towards our commitment to advancing the brand,” Mr Conrad said.

We’re still scrounging for information on what will power the ZDX and what features will be available - it appears Acura has done a bang-up job keeping a lid on things.

We’ll have more information in less than a week when the car is revealed in all its glory at the New York Motor Show. Until then, cast your eye over the teaser images in the gallery and speculate to your heart’s content.
