The revamped Need For Speed Shift now has a release date, and there’s also a video to go with the news.

The video focuses on the way NFS Shift handles crashes – something which has always been a hot topic in racing games with publishers and developers finding all sorts of different ways to portray the severity of in-game crashes.

In the case of EA’s upcoming Need For Speed Shift, the game’s developers have brought an interesting perspective to the genre.

While your car may remain unscathed, an impact with any solid object at a suitable enough speed will leave your (virtual avatar’s) senses befuddled. Hearing will be impaired, eyesight will be fuzzy, and it seems some level of dizziness or disorientation will be present as well.

It’s a clever approach, and we dig it.
