Ford Territory Recalled Over Brake Hose Issue

Ford Australia has issued a recall for Territory wagons built between February 1 2004 and December 31 2008 after a potentially serious brake hose issue was discovered.

Territory Turbo, Territory Ghia Turbo and FPV F6X models are not affected by the recall.

The problem centers around the front brake hoses, which may develop a fluid leak if the car is frequently driven at full steering lock.

A warning light on the dash will alert drivers of any malfunction and the rear brakes will still be able to bring the car to a halt should the front hoses fail, however Ford is urging owners of all affected Territorys to return their vehicles to Ford for a free-of-charge modification.

Owners should contact their nearest Ford service centre to arrange an appointment to have their Territory rectified.

So this will be our fifth repair under warranty in almost three years... mmm.. so glad we bought a Territory.. and I understand the bushes and struts are also scheduled to fail before 60,000 km. What a great investment.
