Brillance BS4 EuroNCAP Tests A Dismal Failure

Under the system’s new testing guidelines, Chinese manufacturer Brilliance has managed to score a staggering zero points with its BS4 sedan during its recent Euro NCAP testing session.

With the previous system, the BS4 would have managed three stars, but the tougher rules of the new methods require manufacturers to put considerable effort into active and passive occupant and pedestrian safety systems.

It's not the first time, either, with the Brilliance BS6 having also failed to put a mark on the board in its first round of testing. It took the BS6 two attempts and a structural redesign to eventually manage a three star rating.

Testing was performed by the ADAC (Germany's version of our AAA) which also provided the gallery images and the videos below.

While comparing footage from the BS6 and BS4 tests does show some improvements, it's clear that Brilliance has a lot of work to do before its cars will be competitive on a global scale, as far as safety is concerned.
