The Tesla Model S has been one of the more hotly-anticipated reveals so far this year, and now that day has come.  Embargos be damned, a pair of press photos of the Model S have leaked online and to put it in simple terms: it’s bloody fine.

There will likely be more information over the course of the day, but for now enjoy these photos and the video of the unveilling itself.

The press photos show the rear and side of the car only, so you’ll need to click through to LeftLaneNews to watch the video and view on-the-spot photos of the front of the striking 2011 Tesla Model S.

As earlier information and images showed, the Tesla Model S is one sleek four-door.  The four-door coupe takes clear inspiration from the likes of Aston Martin and the Jaguar XF - with a panoramic glass roof thrown into the mix - but the pièce de résistance for the Model S is the stunning interior.

The Tesla Model S looks to the future in more ways than its fully electric driveline, with a centre stack in the dash that is entirely digital.  Hardly any physical buttons or switches are present, with the whole section dominated by one big screen.

The official starting price for the Telsa Model S will be US$57,400, but with the US government expected to offer a tax credit on the car, that price will drop to around $50,000.
