One wing not enough? Two wings still “not quite there”? You got problems buddy, but luckily for you Ralliart’s latest release for the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback allows you to plonk a grand total of three wings atop the hot-hatch’s sloping rump!

Is it wing overload? Would the addition of two extra wings (okay, a wing and a spoiler) generate so much downforce that the car would pop wheelstands at any speed above 80km/h?

Probably not, but it’s gotta be said that - in the case of the Sportback at least - less is most definitely more.

Should these aerodynamic adornments take your fancy however, you can pick up the tall wing and boot lip spoiler from Ralliart for ¥52,500 ($773 AUD) and ¥40,950 ($603 AUD) respectively. The official release date is March 31, and for now these appear to be a Japan-only item.

Both are made out of fibreglass and both are sold unpainted, but that’s a minor obstacle for those intent on building themselves a tri-winged Sportback. Us? We’ll keep ours as Mitsubishi intended.
