The FIA GT3 European Championship has announced that - subject to FIA approval - the Ferrari Scuderia GT3 developed by Kessel Racing will contest the 2009 GT3 championship.

The Scuderia GT3 will be a development of the 2007 FIA GT3 European Championship-winning 430 GT3, itself a development of the Ferrari F430.

Three teams have expressed interest in competing with the Scuderia GT3: Kessel racing, JMB Racing and CRS Racing. The car is scheduled to debut at the first race of the season at Silverstone on May 3rd.

The Ferrari Scuderia GT3 will line up against GT3 cars from the likes of Lamborghini, Chevrolet (Corvette), Aston Martin and Porsche. Do we sense an epic supercar battle in the works? We think we do.
