Aussie actor (and one of our ambassadors to Hollywood) Eric Bana has scored some pretty impressive starring roles in the past, and proven each time that he's got the chops for the job.

This time around, though, he has chosen to share the spotlight with his own 1973 XB Falcon GT hardtop.

Bana’s new film Love The Beast tells the story of the two-year restoration project on the Falcon coupe that Bana has owned since he was 15, and Bana’s attempt at Targa Tasmania glory in 2007. For those of you who don’t remember how that turned out, the trailer will soon fill you in.

Alongside Eric Bana, (who sounds more like his old comedy alter-ego 'Poita!' than he has for a long time) the film also stars Jay Leno, Jeremy Clarkson and Phil McGraw.

Can’t place McGraw in your head? You might know him better as Dr. Phil, and he's as mad a car enthusiast as any of us.

Love The Beast opens in selected cinemas on March 12. Visit lovethebeast.com.au to find out where you can watch it.
